Overview
The following Skills and Quests are needed to complete the Medium Desert diary (11 Achievements):
- 45 Prayer;

Rewards
Upon completion of the achievements, talk to Zahur in the herb shop in the south-east corner of Nardah. He will give you an 8000xp lamp for a skill level 43 or higher (if you do not have a skill you can use it on, you must use it on the first skill that reaches 43, or destroy the lamp), and the Desert amulet 2, which has the following perks:
When worn:
- Reduced failure rate at the Agility Pyramid
When operated:
- Unlimited teleports to Nardah
- Convert 50 soda ash to molten glass per day, while in the desert
At all times:
- A second teak tree appears near Uzer;
- Mage Training Arena prices are lowered by 5%;
- Goats have a chance to drop noted desert goat horns;
- 20 potato cactus can be claimed once per day from the Weird Old Man;
- The Sceptre of the gods now has a charge cap of 20 charges
Notes
A Fairy Tale I - Growing Pains is required for this task, and some items to create the magic secateurs may be hard to obtain depending on previous tasks. Irit and Avantoe leaves can be cleaned by Zahur in Nardah without requiring Herblore training, although the level to do this is required for the task regardless. Nature talismans can be obtained from killing Abyssal Leeches in the abyss if that is unlocked, or as rare drops from Giant Rock Crabs or Wallasalki in Waterbirth Island if not.
While completion of A Fairy Tale II - Cure A Queen is not strictly required to finish this diary, you can complete it under taskman rules, as with any other quest a task requires you to start.
Crafting a Mithril grapple is outside of softcaps for the tier, as attaching a mithril grapple head to mithril bolts requires 59 fletching; the mithril grapple can instead be acquired as a drop, most easily from Dried Zombies at the Ullek plateau to the east of the Agility Pyramid. A shortcut can be created here by attaching a rope to the west of the plateau, letting you climb here from the Agility Pyramid; this does not require a task to do, but requires 40 agility to use.
