Remarks[edit]
In order to acquire the base Rune guardian pet, you must complete the 'Rune Mechanics' quest.
You can acquire several copies of this pet aligned to different altars, by placing your current copy in the Menagerie and asking Apprentice Clerval in the Mage Training Arena for a new one. This gives a relatively easy way to pad out your pet count for tasks involving filling the Menagerie.
