Sprite focus is only gained while excavating at archaeology node with a time sprite active. Focus is lost slowly when away from an archaeology node that gives artifacts, and quickly when excavating at a node that does not have the time sprite active. If a player has their game sounds turned on, they can hear the time sprite swap between nodes to avoid losing focus.
