Getting started

When starting your official Taskman account, there are several things you might need off the bat.

Money

Stronghold of Security

An easy 10,000gp can be claimed from the first three levels of the Stronghold of Security beneath Barbarian Village. You cannot collect the boots from the fourth level until you have the associated beginner task.

Giant Frogs

Giant frogs drop frog legs which can be sold for 1,000gp each to Hudo on the first level of the Grand Tree. The frogs are manageable with iron equipment and a combat level of around 20. They're found in the Lumbridge Swamp caves.

Silk

Silk can be bought from the Silk Trader in Al Kharid for 3gp each and sold to the Silk Merchant in Ardougne for 60gp each, giving you a profit of 57gp per silk.

Gear

General combat gear

The shops around Varrock sell gear for all combat styles all the way from tier 1 to tier 40.

Melee: Varrock Sword Shop and Horvik's Armour Shop

Ranged: Lowe's Archery Emporium

Magic: Zaff's Superior Spellcasting and Aubury's Rune Shop

Further, the Champions' Guild has three shops upstairs that will sell you tier 50 gear, once you have 33 quest points.

Runes

Runes can be purchased from the following locations that are easily accessible on Beginner tier accounts - numbers in parentheses are the stock amounts.

• Aubury's Rune Shop in Varrock - Elemental (300), Mind (100), Body (100), Chaos (30) and Death (10) runes.
• Battle Runes, run by the Mage of Zamorak in low-level Wilderness - Elemental (100), Mind (100), Body (100), Chaos (30) and Death (30) runes.
  • Note that after completing the Abyss (miniquest), stocks change to Elemental (1,000), Mind (1,000), Chaos (300), Death (100) and Blood (100) runes.
• Betty's Magic Emporium in Port Sarim - Elemental (300), Mind (100), Body (100), Chaos (30) and Death (10) runes.
• Carwen Essencebinder Magical Runes Shop in Burthorpe - Elemental (300), Mind (100), Body (100), Chaos (30) and Death (10) runes.
• Lundail's Arena-side Rune Shop at the Mage Arena in deep Wilderness - Elemental (1,000), Mind (1,000), Body (1,000), Nature (300), Chaos (300), Law (100), Cosmic (100), and Death (300) runes.
• Void Knight Magic Store at the Void Knight Outpost - Elemental (1,000), Mind (1,000), Body (1,000), Chaos (300), and Death (300) runes.

Rune store stocks update on the daily reset.

Pathfinder gear

Gudrik, a retired Dwarven adventurer, is willing to hand out a set of Pathfinder armour, a tier 10 hybrid outfit which is considered best in slot until tier 20 gear can be worn. Speak to him northeast of the Port Sarim lodestone to learn more.

Food

Gnome Food

Gianne's Restaurant and Blurberry's Bar in the Grand Tree stock the unique cuisine of the gnomes. You can buy it at any time, but it can be expensive for those who don't have much cash.

Kebabs

A Kebab can be purchased from Karim in western Al Kharid for 1gp and will heal a random amount of life points up to 1500, alongside the rare possibility of raising or lowering your stats.

Eeligator

Stocked at Mazcab Emergency Merchants, cooked eeligator is a Goebie delicacy which can heal up to 1875 life points apiece at Constitution level 75. A pricey meal, save it for bossing runs like the God Wars Dungeon starting in Medium tier.

Fishing

You are allowed to fish and cook for your own food on a need to eat basis. This means that you may only catch and cook one inventory of fish at a time, and cannot gather any more until that inventory has been used up. This is to prevent excessive out-of-task training.
